New Blazers Boost Business Students' Pride and Professionalism

Valley High School in Las Vegas takes pride in preparing its business students for the “real world.” Part of that preparation is teaching students the importance of a professional appearance, something the school reinforces by providing blazers for students to wear at job fairs and other professional and community events.

Unfortunately, a limited budget meant the students were wearing blazers that had been used for more than 15 years. These “hand-me-down” jackets were showing too much age and wear, leaving the students feeling less than professional.

That’s when Van Heffner, President and CEO of the Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association, contacted Tyler Dion, Cintas Regional Director of Sales in Las Vegas. When Heffner explained the clothing challenge faced by the Valley High business students, Dion knew Cintas could help.

"As Cintas partners, we understand the importance of professional appearance. It’s part of our daily culture," Dion said. "We knew providing an updated look would have a tremendous impact, helping the students feel good about themselves and their professionalism."

When Cintas supplied a shipment of new blazers to Valley High, the students immediately experienced a big boost in pride and professionalism.

"Students now proudly wear their new blazers as they prepare for their futures in business," Heffner said. "In this difficult economy, it was amazing to see how Cintas helped these students. We thank Cintas for their generous contribution and appreciate their attention to the development of our community."
