Heroic actions help save a life

SSRs Miguel Alvarez and Michael Guerrero were at the wheel of their trucks, heading for Miami, Florida’s Location 17 at the end of their shifts when a car about a block ahead skidded off the road and plunged into a canal. Pulling their trucks to the curb, the two went into action. Miguel called 9-1-1 while Michael plunged into the canal’s murky waters to rescue the car’s driver. After reaching the submerged car, Guerrero managed to free the driver and bring him to the surface. On dry land, the SSRs administered first aid learned through their Cintas training and remained with the victim until the paramedics arrived.
