Alysia Drake: Cintas Hero Nominee
Pittston, PA — Recently, Alysia spotted flames shooting from a neighboring house. As onlookers stood in confusion of what to do, Alysia grabbed two 10lb ABC extinguishers from her house and ran to put the fire out. Alysia’s knowledge of extinguisher use from her position at Location F43, Northeast Regional Processing Center, allowed her to successfully put out the fire. For her outstanding effort, Alysia was recently presented with a “Certificate of Recognition” by the Scranton Fire Department during our Annual Safety Day. The department noted that Alysia’s quick actions helped save the entire house from being engulfed in flames.
Kay Lucas: Cintas Hero Nominee
Puyallup, WA — Our Tacoma (461) facility recently received two awards from the Association of Washington Business (AWB) on May 19th 2009 in Spokane Washington. The awards were “Helping People in Need” and “Volunteerism”. Of the thousands of applicants and numerous winners, only four companies had multiple award winners that day which included Cintas in Puyallup, WA. Kay Lucas, the location Human Resource Manager, has been instrumental in getting Cintas appropriate exposure in the community and these two awards are a reflection of her efforts. Kay and her team helped spearhead several community initiatives including partnerships with The Red Cross, the Salvation Army Women’s Shelter, The Washington Soldiers Home in Orting, Madigan Army Medical Center, Make a Wish Foundation, Northwest Harvest, and the Tacoma Rescue Mission. The location partners also adopted three soldiers servicing in Iraq for Christmas, contributed to breast cancer awareness activities, orchestrated baby food and children’s clothing drives and more. I am very proud of Kay, the Fun Factor Committee and the entire location for contributing in such a significant way.
