2008 Nominees - December
John Oetter: Cintas Hero Nominee
When one of our customers had an employee that was diagnosed with brain cancer
and was going to be out on medical leave John suggested that they leave the uniforms up on the rack
hanging with the rest of the guys so that when he would come back to visit in between treatments he
would see his garments still there and feel like part of the team. He has since passed away but the
customer called to let us know how much that meant to both the company and the individual before
he passed.
Jessica Ellis: Cintas Hero Nominee
Becky is very tender hearted and always goes above and beyond anyone's expectations
to make sure that partner needs are met. If someone is in hardship, she will specifically keep in contact
with them (even if from her own home) and make sure that she does everything she can for them. She
truly makes all of us feel like her personal "partners" rather than employees. She makes us feel
like we are all in it together!
Marvin Kitchen: Cintas Hero Nominee
Marvin suffered a stroke and heart attack in
May of this year. He was in ICU for 3 weeks and rehabbed at Drake Hospital after that until September.
He came back to work on September 19th and has brought the same smile, enthusiasm and love of Cintas
back to all the partners at 09 who dearly missed him. Marvin has been an inspiration to so many people
who thought they had it bad. Keeping his sense of humor through it all makes Marvin a Cintas Hero.
Justin Terrell: Cintas Hero Nominee
Justin is a new SSR. While Servicing Spinnaker
Coating he noticed an Angel Tree in the plant's lobby. Without asking he took several tags and came back
the following week with presents for a needy family. Justin just became a parent himself but still
wanted to help other parents take care of their kids this time of year. He helped specifically Miami
County Children Services through his customer Spinnaker Coating. Once I found out about this (not by
Justin who is very humble) I talked to the customer and they were very thankful and impressed at what
Justin had done. He was not solicited by anyone there to do that, he just knew it was the right thing
to do. We talk all the time about hiring the right kind of people and we are proud Justin is an #002
partner. We feel he represents what this location and its partners are about.
Maribel Ramos: Cintas Hero Nominee
This Christmas Maribel and her husband held a toy
drive in Los Angeles California for under privledged kids in their area. They were able to raise nearly
1,000 toys for the drive which was a success.
Purita Agag: Cintas Hero Nominee
Purita's heroism is not defined by a single act, but
by her selfless dedication to her job and to her fellow partners. She can best be described as the
heartbeat of the plant. She retired once and came out of retirement because she missed CINTAS. Whenever a
partner is in need, she is at the tip of the spear leading the way to coordinate help for them. She buys
cards and organizes parties for her partners for special occassions such as birthdays or anniversarys.
She is a rare individual.
Brenda Perez: Cintas Hero Nominee
One early morning this past spring Brenda attended to
a woman who crashed at our location driveway entrance. With Brenda’s CPR/First Aid/AED training she asked
the woman if she had any injuries. The woman had leg and back pain but since an ambulance was in route and
since the woman did not have life threatening injuries Brenda did not move the woman to prevent any further
injuries. Brenda stayed to comfort until help arrived. I believe Brenda deserves recognition for her
actions.
Norma Spradlin: Cintas Hero Nominee
Norma's pleasant personality easy smile can always
be counted on. She's always willing to do whatever it takes to help another partner. Norma is a devoted
partner & she volunteers many hours working at a local animal rescue, her church & the Big Sister
organiation. When she retires, her goal is to be a foster parent for homeless children. This Christmas Eve,
while we're all enjoying time with family, this little Cintas Elf will be out deliverying toys to needy
children. No fanfare or acc
